How did you get the object?

Bought it for a dollar at a thrift store

Does this object have a historical significance in your life?

Yes! I found Hund at St. Vincent de Paul while I was thrifting with friends in December 2019. It was a bit before quarantine happened and she was an impulse buy. She's stuck with me ever since, but my best memory with her so far was traveling from the US to Indonesia in March 2020. She kept me company and made the long haul super fun; the flight was 20+ hours. Having her made me feel energized the whole time and it kinda felt like taking care of a child haha. Then, she accompanied me every day when I came back to Madison for my senior year.

What does the object smell like? (feel free to use several words or make up words to describe it)

She smells great! My mom sent her to the laundromat after I landed in Indonesia in March 2020, right after the Covid-19 outbreak. She's smelled sweet ever since, like flowers or freshly pressed linen. It makes me feel at home because it's the same smell my blanket and pillows are at home in Jakarta.

What does the object feel like? (feel free to use several words or make up words to describe it)

Super soft, and her cute little nose makes it feel like I'm hugging a living being at night. Unlike other soft toys, Hund isn't particularly squishy. She has enough fur to tickle my nose and make me laugh, but also enough substance so that cuddling her feels as secure as cuddling my bolster. I also like to pinch her cheeks, it's so fluffy and cute!

Why do you need or use it?

She makes me feel safer and more comfortable when I sleep. I usually hug her and use my bolster for my feet specifically. Since she smells nice, I like to put her head right under my nose and I sleep super easy when I do that.

What would you feel if you lost the object?

DEVASTATED. I honestly regret not bringing her with me this trip, but I decided to leave her back in the US because she was too big to pack in my backpack. I took one of my other plushies instead (Röddy), but she does not feel the same :(
